LOS ANGELES, CA (October 6, 2026) — Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC) announced that Sharhonda Bossier will step down as Chief Executive Officer on October 31, 2026. Bossier has served as CEO since 2021 and has been part of EdLoC’s leadership team since 2016. Andrea Foggy-Paxton, the Entrepreneur in Residence at EdLoC and Founder of the Social Studies Accelerator, will serve as Interim CEO.
“Sharhonda helped build EdLoC from the ground up, and her visionary leadership will leave an enduring mark on every part of who we are today. Because of her influence, EdLoC’s community is stronger, its reach is more expansive, and our members have more opportunities to help young people of color achieve their fullest potential,” said Dr. Nancy B. Gutierrez, Chair of EdLoC’s Board of Directors. “We are deeply grateful for Sharhonda’s impressive contributions to EdLoC and admire her dedication to bringing people together to ensure our communities can thrive.”
During Sharhonda’s tenure, EdLoC grew from a small founding group of 18 members into a national, values-aligned network that has supported more than 2,000 leaders of color, with members spanning more than 40 states.
Sharhonda’s leadership also helped drive the launch and growth of the Boulder Fund, EdLoC’s multimillion-dollar grant program designed to invest directly in the work of emerging, innovative leaders of color. Since 2018, EdLoC’s Boulder Fund has committed $6.9 million in grants and funded 50 organizations across the country.
