Samuel Roe
Managing Director, Education Performance Group LLC
Samuel is the managing director of Education Performance Group. There, he assists leaders in the education sector on advocacy, educational technology, strategy, and operations. Samuel is also a senior consultant with RCG Talent, where he counsels education organizations on senior executive searches and talent strategy. Previously, Samuel worked in the Office of the Associate Commissioner at the Texas Education Agency and was an innovation advisor in the Immediate Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Education. Before working in government, Samuel was Director of Public Policy & Special Initiatives at Citizen Schools and worked in New York City professional services firms where he counseled clients in the private equity, venture capital, and education sectors.
Samuel has served on numerous non-profit boards, including the Truman Scholar Association Board of Directors. He is also a currently a member of the EdLoC policy committee.
Samuel earned a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law, a MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a bachelors degree magna cum laude from Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy and International Relations. Samuel is a Root Tilden Kern and Harry S. Truman Scholar. He was awarded the American Economic Association Summer Training Fellowship to conduct education economics research at Duke University. His research has been cited by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the United States Department of Health & Human Services, and his consulting. Work was featured in Black Enterprise Magazine. Outside of education policy, Samuel enjoys watching and playing sports, traveling, and watching a good movie.
