The Marcy Lab School is reimagining higher education and workforce development with one critical and timely mission: to create an accelerated pathway to high-growth technology careers for young adults from underestimated backgrounds. Bio:

Reuben Ogbonna is responsible for the strategic direction of the Marcy Lab School. Under his leadership, the Marcy Lab School has grown from 2 staff members and 9 students in their pilot year to a community of 16 staff members and 70 students and alumni. In the seven years prior to his founding this organization, Reuben has served low-income students of color as a math teacher, school leader, and leadership coach. During the summer of 2015, he served as a Teaching Fellow at the Flatiron School. In this role, Reuben taught introductory web development courses for high school students with little to no prior experience in computer science. Reuben believes in the innate ingenuity of young people and their ability to source solutions to their own problems if given the proper tools.
