Overview:

The Marcy Lab School is reimagining higher education and workforce development with one critical and timely mission: to create an accelerated pathway to high-growth technology careers for young adults from underestimated backgrounds. Now in our third year, we are preparing to serve an even broader student population by expanding beyond software engineering to other academic pathways. 

Bio:

Maya Bhattacharjee oversees the learning experience of all students and alumni at the Marcy Lab School. She manages a team of instructors and counselors to support students in their academic and leadership development. She has devoted her career to centering and uplifting students throughout New York. She started her career on Marcy Avenue as an English teacher and instructional coach at Leadership Prep Bedford Stuyvesant Academy. Since then, she has served as a Director of School Culture, a literacy curriculum specialist, and most recently, a Program Director at Teach For America. In 2018, Maya was selected for the HELM Social Design Studio Fellowship, traveling to Ethiopia to advocate for the rights of migrant youth and women.
